Marxist literature is vast and deep, sometimes too complex for the beginning reader. Marx and Engels were aware of this, and to this end, they created small books, often called pamphlets, to reach the workers. The Communist Manifesto, one of the most important books in history, is widely used as an introduction to socialist ideas. Marx's main work, however, Capital, is sometimes inaccessible due to the size and depth of its content. Wage-Labour and Capital, considered a precursor of Capital, manages to provide an accessible scientific economic understanding of capitalism without losing the typical depth of Marx's works.

The translation we decided to bring is 1) the classic original translation of Samuel Moore, the only authorized translation of The Communist Manifesto which was commissioned, thoroughly verified, and supplied with footnotes by Friedrich Engels himself, and 2) the 1891 translation of Wage-Labour and Capital made by Friedrich Engels, almost a decade after Marx's death. This edition also contains a selected collection of commentaries on Marx and Engels made by great names such as Che Guevara and Lenin.
