Özet

Pearl is a novel by John Steinback, which was first published in 1947. It is a parable about wealth, greed and human nature established in a small coastal village in Mexico. The story Kino, follows a poor pearl divers, who discovers a huge and valuable pearl. Initially, he believes that Pearl will bring prosperity and better future for his family, especially for his baby son, Koyotito. However, as the discovery of kinos spreads, catching greed and corruption, causing a series of tragic events. The novel examines subjects of destructive power of luck, social oppression and greed. The writing of Steinbeck is still powerful, which combines realism with a metaphor. Pearls are widely studied for their moral lessons and is one of the most famous and ideas-elastic functions of steinbecks.
