Barn Burning

Centers around the family of Abner Snopes, a poverty-stricken, unscrupulous Southern tenant farmer of the post-Civil War era. Because of his father's misplaced compulsion for revenge against his economic and social superiors, Snopes' youngest son is thrown into a conflict between feelings of loyalty to his cruel father and his own growing sense of justice and integrity.
