The Children of Freedom

France 1943. Hundreds of thousands of people are left bereft of family and home by the German occupation. But Jeannot and his little brother Claude, along with their friends, are different - they are young, their parents came to France from elsewhere, they are passionately committed to the fight for freedom. The group become partisans, tacking the Germans and their French supporters in every way they can: their strong bond of friendship supports them in the face of terrible danger and fear, and their growing up, their forbidden love, continues even under the dark shadows of betrayal, deportation and death.
