Exiles a Play in Three Acts

A new edition of James Joyce's only published play, Exiles, first published in 1918. Drawing from The Dead -- the final, and perhaps most famous, short story in Joyce's short-story collection Dubliners -- Exiles tells the story of Richard, a writer who returns to Ireland from Rome with Bertha, the mother of his illegitimate son, Archie. Richard reconnects with people from his past and complications arise.<br/><br/>James Joyce (1882-1941) was an Irish novelist, short story writer, and poet, regarded as one of the most influential and important writers of the 20th century for his contributions to the modernist avant-garde literary movement. Joyce is best known for Ulysses (1922), Dubliners (1914), A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (1916) and Finnegans Wake (1939), as well as his collections of poetry, letters, journalism, and his one published play, Exiles (1918).
