The Secrets of Dr John Richard Taverner

Dr. Taverner, the Sherlock Holmes of the occult, runs a psychiatric clinic for very peculiar mental illnesses, where he treats victims of attacks by strange entities and in which elves and other creatures in human guise transit. His assistant, Rhodes, helps him solve cases by bridging the reader to these supernatural situations. The author was also admitted to a similar clinic in her youth: the episodes are therefore narrated in a convincing style, without ever abandoning her signature humor.
