Pablo Ortiz was a cheerful, hardworking remudero. But all that changed the day his patron's daughter falsely accused him of molesting her. Hounded, whipped and left for dead by her irate father, the young Mexican, with the help of Pedro Gomez, leaves Mexico vowing one day to return and clear his name.
