The Sweet Hereafter A Novel

The school bus in Sam Dent, New York, swerves off the road during heavy snow. Most of the town's children are either killed or injured and this book follows several of the survivors and their families as they come to terms with the accident. The author was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
