A Tagore Reader

This anthology is intended to offer a fairly comprehensive view of Tagore s contribution to our times. Is offers glimpses of essential features of Tagore s creative expression in his own words. Except for a few cases, the material in each has been arranged chronologically. The individual introduction to each section includes relevant information concerning the context in which the original material was written, a brief discussion of the contents of the section, and facts concerning translations and publications. Further clarifications of names and events and emendations of the texts are provided in the notes at the back of the book. This book is part of the Indian Translation Series of UNESCO.
