<i>The Tenant</i> is a dark and mischievous take on the American campus novel. Out jogging one day round his mid-West campus, visiting linguistics professor Mario Rota twists his ankle and from that moment his life begins to turn into a nightmare. A new hot-shot professor arrives at the university, moves into his building, is allocated his lectures and bewitches his girlfriend. Where will it end?<br> <br> <i>The Motive</i> is a satirical little tale of paranoia and obsession about an aspiring writer who takes literature more seriously than life. The writer's determination to base his novel on the lives of the occupants of his apartment block leads to disaster, and to the reversal of the usual maxim that life follows art - now his subversive art begins to direct the lives of those around him, not least his own.
