<p>The stories of Dede Korkut are one of the most important values of Turkish world. The geographic settings of the stories are not specific. However, from what is understood, it is estimated to have taken place around northeast Anatolia and Azerbaijan. The stories in this book are during the 9th and 11th centuries. Throughout history, the stories Dede Korkut were told, thus passed orally from generation to generation. These stories were either written down in the 15th century or the 16th century. Dede Korkut tales tells us of the Oghuz Turks' life styles, family life and struggles.<br> </p>
