George Sand was the pseudonym of Amandine Aurore Lucie Dupin, Baronne Dudevant. She was an extremely prolific (over 70 novels) French writer of the 19th century, and she raised many eyebrows with her scandalous affairs with several important figures. Like most of her other novels, The Gallant Lords of Bois-Dor is a highly romantic and moralistic work. Translated from the French by Steven Clovis.
