Wells was also a prolific and accomplished writer in other genres and he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature four times. Classic novels such as The Time Machine, The Island of Doctor Moreau, The Invisible Man, and The War of the Worlds have been adapted into numerous films and other media over the years.
