Evan Roberts, an ex-CIA analyst turned spy novelist living on Hilton Head Island, is struggling with writer's block and an impatient editor as he picks up his boyhood friend, Frank Johnson, from the Savannah airport for a weekend visit to relax from the stresses facing his company. Johnson, a brilliant engineer, has pyramided a series of high stakes technical gambles to a true game changer, the Cadmus Project, a secretly developed electric car that runs 300 miles on a single battery charge. While only a few technical challenges remain, a major cost reduction is mandatory before the car can be successfully launched into the market. But time is short. Skyrocketing development costs are sweeping the company toward bankruptcy with the speed of a tsunami.Unknown to Johnson, powerful people have penetrated his project security. Their hired killer watches from the shadows, determined to spring into action at the right moment to ensure total failure.
