Most have heard of Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island, but it was actually published as three separate stories, only later being combined into a three-part volume.This is the second in the trilogy of stories and begins seven months after the escapees crash land on a mysterious island. They are just trying to stay alive and survive against the indigenous wildlife and inherent dangers the island brings. They also have been building a boat with the idea of sailing off the island.This edition features 51 restored illustrations accompanying the text that was carefully translated in Verne's own time, along with a full-page map of Lincoln Island, the site of their new life.
