Overview

September Song follows the O'Malley saga from Chucky O'Malley's appointment as Ambassador to Germany by the young President John F. Kennedy, to his resignation because of a violent disagreement with now-President Lyndon Johnson. We follow the trouble-prone Chucky as he becomes involved in the civil rights struggle, the Chicago Democratic Convention, and the war in Vietnam. Raising a family and showing up at the hot spots around the world seems to be Chucky's destiny in a tale that recalls the turbulent, history-changing events of the 1960s.
