In the first tale, a clever rabbit wins every test of skill or intelligence to determine royal succession; he proves to be an enchanted prince, to which human form he returns. In the second story, a contest for the hand of a princess ends with the princess much amused and her hand given to the handsome prince she has been hoping would win.
