
Noone can tell a vampire story like a Romanian, and few Romanians can bring the breadth of learning world renowned mythologist Eliade (1907-86). His fiction is little known, partly because it is all in Romanian. The novelette and three short stories here share a concern with the supernatural and settings in preindustrial Romania.
