The work of Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) continues to attract wide interest. Mathematicians, physicists, crystallographers, chemists, biologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, art historians, and specialists in computer graphics and visual communications attended this congress.
