Kitab al-Tawheed

Presented for the first time in English, is a complete translation of book one entitled Kitab al-Tawheed (the Book of Monotheism) taken from Ibn Hazm’s [d. 1064 CE] magnum opus of fiqh (jurisprudence), al-Muhalla bil’Athar. Although broader in scope than the title would suggest, Kitab al-Tawheed serves as the introduction to the Muḥalla, setting out core fundamental tenants and underlying principles. In his unique inimitable style, Ibn Ḥazm sets out the topic of each chapter, providing detailed evidences from the Qur’an and the authentic Prophetic Sunnah to substantiate the principles enumerated. Kitab al-Tawheed is an essential text for both the beginner and advanced student in Islam.
