Overview

"Israfel" is a spiritually inclined poetic work written by A.E. Waite, most notably of fame for his "Book of Ceremonial Magic" and contributions to alchemical compilations. The poem is delivered in a series of visions, related to the character of this angelic being of import within both Christian and Islamic theology as the bearer of revelation itself. As with most such poetic works by Waite, it includes a few shorter, unrelated poems as well, and is rather on the romanticist side.
