Overview

(6 Audio Cassettes) Ray Bradbury tells fourteen of his stories from the '40's and '50's. Some were futuristic then and remain so. Others are timeless explorations of human nature. Bradbury doesn't project emotion as an actor might, but his smooth Midwestern voice makes each dramatic situation clear. Without actually creating new voices, he keeps numerous characters distinct by changing speech pattern and inflection. Before each story Bradbury speaks introspectively of experiences in his life which led to its creation. The earnestness in his voice during these introductions nicely balances and enriches his more controlled presentation of the stories. D.J. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
