
Charles Aznavour, born Shahnour Vaghinag Aznavourian, on 22nd May 1924, Paris, France, was a singer, lyricist, actor, public activist and diplomat. Aznavour was known for his distinctive tenor voice, clear and ringing in its upper reaches, with gravelly low notes. During a career spanning over 70 years, he recorded more than 1,200 songs, interpreted in 8 languages, having written or co-written more than 1,000 songs for himself and others.
