Cadichon is not an ordinary donkey, he is neither as stupid as a donkey nor as obstinate as a donkey. He is a performing donkey (this is the title he uses to sign the story of his life) whose tricks are not always very kind; for not only is Cadichon a performing donkey, but also a revengeful one. Cadichon n'est pas un ane ordinaire, il n'est ni bete comme un ane ni tetu comme un ane. C'est un ane savant (c'est le titre qu'il utilise pour signer ses memoires) dont les tours ne sont pas toujours tres gentils; car en plus d'etre savant, Cadichon est rancunier. This is a large print French-English book, adapted from Les Memoires d'un ane, by la Comtesse de Segur. The English part tells the story using the past tenses, but the French part uses mostly the present of narration. It smoothes out the French conjugation.
