She is regarded as one of the founding "feminist" philosophers and more enduringly influential thinkers of her era. Her writings included the novels <b><i>Mary: A Fiction</i></b> and <b><i>Maria, or the Wrongs of Women</i></b>, political treatises <b><i>Vindication of the Rights of Men</i></b> and <b><i>A Vindication of the Rights of Woman</i></b>, sociological travel narratives like her <b><i>Letters Written in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark</i></b>, and several works on education, including <i><b>Thoughts on the Education of Daughters</b></i> and <b><i>Original Stories from Real Life</i></b>. Mary Wollstonecraft died in 1797 at age 38, eleven days after giving birth to her second daughter, <b>Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley</b>, who would become famous in her own right as the author of <b><i>Frankenstein</i></b>.<br>
