Yusei Matsui

Yusei Matsui is a manga writer and artist who builds high-concept stories from comedy, danger, and characters learning to outthink stronger opponents. Assassination Classroom follows a class ordered to kill its immensely powerful teacher, turning that premise into a story about education, teamwork, and confidence. Later collected volumes continue that series, but Assassination Classroom remains the natural doorway. The Elusive Samurai shifts to a young heir surviving political upheaval through flight, strategy, and unlikely allies. The Elusive Samurai, Vol. 7 develops that historical adventure after its opening arc; Elusive Samurai, Vol. 15 and The Elusive Samurai, Vol. 22 belong to much later stages and reward sequential reading. Assassination Classroom displays Matsui's mixture of absurd humor and emotional stakes, whereas The Elusive Samurai shows how the same inventive pacing works inside a historical action narrative.
