Margaret Weis is an American fantasy writer whose collaborative series place friendship, divided loyalties, and the cost of magic inside expansive invented histories. Dragons of Autumn Twilight opens the Dragonlance Chronicles by reuniting companions as war returns to their world; Dragons of Winter Night widens both the conflict and the strains within the group. Time of the Twins and War of the Twins follow the bond between Raistlin and Caramon into questions of ambition, power, and whether devotion can survive betrayal. Weis often writes with co-authors, especially Tracy Hickman, and that shared authorship is part of the identity of her best-known series. The Dragonlance Chronicles provide the clearest view of her ensemble storytelling, while the twins volumes concentrate the emotional conflict around two brothers.
