The Dice Man begins when a private experiment turns decisions over to random outcomes, loosening familiar rules while multiplying the harm that can follow from refusing ownership. Search for the Dice Man returns to the consequences of that idea and asks what remains once rebellion develops its own expectations.

Book of the Die extends the language of chance into a playful system of prompts and disruptions. Long Voyage Back shifts toward survival, group pressure, and moral choice under extreme conditions. Across these books, Rhinehart uses games and unstable rules to expose a serious tension: freedom can open new possibilities, but randomness cannot answer for the people affected by a choice.
